Color and images best describe the art works of Carolyn Sheehan. She combines creativity and imagination with emotions in every piece with the sole purpose of not only creating an aesthetic that impacts the feelings but causes pleasure as well. Every piece is worked like a sculpture: three dimensional and take shape in a style in which the icon is always the focal point.
Born in Queens, New York, she attended Pratt Institute and The National Academy of Design in New York City. To date she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the US and Europe.
Her latest solo exhibitions include Manhattan Graphics Center, New York, NY (2012), Callahan Center Gallery, St Francis College, Brooklyn, NY (2011). Past solo exhibits include Leonora Vega Gallery, New York, Olaf Clasen Gallery, Köln. Past group exhibitions Include: Art & Pierre, Montélimar France, “International Miniature Print Biennial” (1st prize award), Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk, CT, Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio, Warwick Museum of Art, Rhode Island.
